Practise speaking a foreign language (including English) and talk to someone new!

The Language Centre at Queen Mary has introduced sessions to practise speaking a foreign language with a native or fluent speaker who is a student or staff member at Queen Mary. If English is not your first language, you may use this opportunity to practise your English.

It is a great opportunity for you to speak to someone new, and practise your foreign language at the same time. The sessions are free and open to all Queen Mary students and staff. You can be any level, except complete beginner and there is no requirement for you to be studying a language at Queen Mary.

The languages currently offered are: English, French, German, Italian, Hindi (Hindi can also be taken by complete beginners), Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Tamil. See more information and to book a session.

You can also sign up to be a volunteer to help language learners. You will receive training, become part of a Speaking Practice volunteering community, and receive a certificate. Contact languagepractice@qmul.ac.uk if you would like to volunteer. Applications from Arabic, French and Japanese speaking volunteers are particularly welcomed at this time.
